lower it to race people. mostly for effect tho cause i don't think
lowering
a truck 2" or so would have much effect on speed...but i think it'll look
neat. anyways i want a button on the stick that will lower the truck as
long as i hold it down and raise it back up when i let go. the switching
is
no problem nor is the wiring, but what i want to know is will the
suspension
be able to take this? i figure i'd basically be lowering the truck to
where
i want it when the button is down and then installing air springs and
riding
around with them filled up. kinda the opposite ofn what everyone else
does.
also, will this make for a bumpy ride or anything?<<

okay!
You want adjustable suspension? You have 2 options if you want to stick
with air. You can go out and get a set of air shocks. They look like
regular ol' shocks, but you can fill em' with air and raise and lower
your truck at will, but only a few inches. If you want to be able to
change the ride height anytime you want, you would have to mount an
airtank and a compressor so you'd have a constant supply of air. These
items take up a considerable amount of space, so you have to put em' in
the bed. And air shocks take FOREVER to air up. I mean a couple minutes
to get to full "air up".
Your other option is to bag the truck. This would be replacing someof
your suspension components with airbags to give you full adjustability.
These things take a lot of work, and are illegal in some states. They DO
ride great tho!!

adjustable suspension is nice to have, but you can't bag it and have a
mild drop. And you can't use airshocks and expect a decent ride. My
advice to you is to invest in a mild drop (ie Hotchkis or Western
Chassis) and not bother with adjustable suspension.. more trouble than
it's worth IMHO
