Andy welcome to the club. My 97 has the peeling bumper and rust also. Our
dealer admitted there was a problem and had no problems replacing the iten
under warranty. Though 2 months later I am still waiting for them to be
ready to slap a bumper on. Our so called "5 star dealers" is without a body
shop right now and says they cant do it. I was perfectly willing for them
to unbolt the bumper off one of those 2000 models sitting down there and
hand it to me. Hell I would have put it on myself. They declined, lol.

You guys gotta stop talking about peeling paint. I was just outside
doing some cleaning on my truck, looked down at the bumper, checking out
the bugs I've collected lately, and what do I see?

Peeling paint. On the top of the bumper, just below the left headlight
and a little inboard. Also some on the fonrt to top corner. A little
on the right as well. Has anyone else with a Gen-III had this happen?

I just bought my truck, new, 30 miles on the odometer, in March of '99.
14 months. Unbelievable. I'll be spending my day off tomorrow at the
dealer complaining. This WILL get fixed under warranty. Should I ask
for a repaint, or a new bumper altogether? I have no other
transportation, so I'm looking for the fastest solution.

Peter Cutler and the other Central NY folks, what's the best dealer
around here? I've been to Fayetteville and wasn't thrilled, and now
they're 5-star, so I'm even more wary. Is Sam Dell in Syracuse any
good? I think while it's in getting fixed, I'll get the tranny fluid
changed too. I need to get that done and Valvoline sure didn't give me a
good feeling when they couldn't figure out how.
