Hi Jon,
I forgot about this one. I did just the opposite. I cut down the backside
of the intake and left the distributor alone. I didn't have trouble with
the hold-down bracket, but with the distributor base impacting the intake.
I will be interesting to see how everybody finishes the details on the
intake install. How the vacuum lines are run, where/how the sensor
relocations were done, radiatorhose, A/C bracket, etc. Talk to you later.
Rich

Mike, the mopar RTV will work fine. Pay REAL close attention to the end
gaskets, use plenty of sillycone along w/ the end gaskets. I did not see
how the manifold would fit w/o grinding the compressor.. the left rear
corner of the A/C stuck right over the right side and bolt area of the
thermostat housing... What year is your truck? Unless it's a '93 with the
upper radiatr hose going around behing the A/C compressor, you're going to
need another upper hose for extra material. I found that the '93 model hose
was an absolute b*#& to find. Also check the distributor hold down clamp,
I had to grind it down a lil for some weird reason it was barely touching
the manifold..... And before you put the intake on, check it over for
casting flaws, paying close attention to the fuel injector bosses, mine had
extra material just barely hanging on and would have fallen right down into
the head if I hadn't cut it off..
good luck w/ the install, keep us posted
