I'll try to get some pictures up on my sight tonight, since it has finally stopped raining here in Maryland !!!

I'm in the process of fabricating a custom skid plate out of 1/4" thick aluminum diamond plate. (with the Ram logo
painted on)

Well despite a cracked windshield I did hit the sand dunes yesterday at Fort

Fisher NC, I wanted to see how the truck would compare to before being

lifted. As I'm parked at the entrance airing down my tires I notice another

beefy-lookin' Gen II Dak in the parking lot with...get this...a 3 inch body

lift and 35" BFG MTs!! I could not believe my eyes, it looked kick ass!

Although I could not figure out how the hell he fit 35's in there... but upon

closer inspection I noticed that his fenders were trimmed back and there was

ome serious rubbing going on, according to the frame that was polished to

hiny bare metal where the wheels touched on hard turns. Okay, so he couldn't

turn hard or articulate at all, but it still looked awesome! Plus the guy had

a custom welded rear bumper with shackles, big ol' lights on the front

pillars, flowmaster exhaust...very cool, beefy, stout lookin truck. I parked

mine next to it to compare height and took a bunch of pictures.

Just then the guy comes walking out and freaked when he saw my truck! A nice

dakota bonding moment. I told him about the dml (gave him the web address but

I just noticed that the server is down...hmmmm...)...

And about running on the dunes? The Dak kicked ass! blew through the thick

dunes with NO hesitation like it did pre-lift. The larger tires definitely

make a huge difference on sand. I had a blast playing around out there on the

beach! Happy Dak Day!
