I have to second the checking of the battery/charging for any poor idle/performance
conditions. It seems that when the battery charge gets low the computer and all
the sensors start getting dizzy for lack of power and decent voltage reference.
In my experience this leads to bad gas mileage, sluggish performance,
and rough idle. I found found that using the red/green flat felt 'washers' on
the battery terminals work great and go far to prevent that voltage from getting
low in the first place. Installing the felt washers will likely reset your
computer,
BTW, so give the computer a chance to settle after getting a good charge on a good
battery before coming to conclusions.
