I run 97 Octane Conoco gas in my truck with the 318 and I've never had a
problem with it pinging. I drive it very hard too. The only time it ever
had higher than 87 was the day I bought it, I put super in cuz I work for
the dealership and they were footing the bill, hehehe. Every once in awhile
I give it a shot of B12 Chemtool to clean everything out and that ups the
octane a bit.
