I do not know about Kenwood, but I have several CD-R's that I play in my
factory CD player and Pioneer player that WILL NOT even register in my
friends Alpine CD-Changer.

There must be a lot of lemons coming from Alpine. The person with the Alpine
equipment also gave me the line that he has nothing but good experiences with
Alpine equipment. His 4th CD-changer, 2nd head unit, and now Sony speakers
(yea I know I did everything I could to keep him from purchasing them) seem
to be working OK, the 3rd or 4th (I forget) V12 amp works great on the right
side, left there is nothing.
I admit being brand-centric in my equipment, which I bought around the same
time he purchased his Alpine equipment. I have Pioneer equipment and most of
it still works correctly. I had a speaker wire short out (the speaker was
not mounted correctly by the installer) which damaged an amp, Pioneer sent me
a replacement no questions asked, when the Alpine equipment went bad they
tried repairing hopelessly each piece. And I paid 25% less for basically the
same options. I will give you, there is a difference in sound and which one
you like is a matter of opinion, I obviously prefer Pioneer. But when it
comes to quality, customer service and longevity Alpine falls WAY WAY behind
(especially for the price you pay for it).
- Just my opinion and the reasons for it!
