I have 14K on my V-8 5spd truck and have never had the trans. "jump" out of
1st gear. I have made 62 1/4 mile passes to date, never any problems.
I will agree, it is a little "notchy" but I don't consider it abnormal. You
just have to give a firm pull into first.

I've got a V6, 5 speed manual and if you don't have it
firmly in gear before releasing the clutch and giving
it gas POP and it's in neutral. I can't believe how
clunky the trans is to use. Someone please make a
shift kit for these trucks please.......
