Yes, rpm will kill motors,but in our cases it's running the motor lean with
too much timing causing detonation that kills our motors.
Some of you guys may remember when I was running 10#s of boost from a
vortech. I ran tons of passes with it. I never hurt anything. I also ran the
MP comp. I did ,however, runa BTM and a few gallons of race gas at the track.
I also had 24lb injectors with an adj. reg. The motor was stock. I was very
careful in not allowing any detonation.
I later sold it, and the guy blew 3 headgaskets in 3 months trying to run
all that boost with the MP comp., no fuel adjustability or good gas.
The bottom end is strong enough to take it. I would recommend a valve
spring upgrade.
You can run 9lbs IMO, but you gotta be careful and listen to your motor. I
ran the 10lbs only at the track.
