Ok...I finally got it off....after pretty much
destroying the filter...nothing left but the top plate
and thread mount. Finally got it off by by using a
pair of 90degree needle nose pliers..putting tips up
into the return filter holes and turning...when I got
it off the rubber seal was completely compressed and
dry as a bone...whoever put it on at the factory
didn't follow the lubing procedure or the torque
specs.

Anyway, in getting it off guess what, must have let
the tipe of the screwdriver hit the oil pressure
sending unit and broke off the electrical connector.
Autozone didn't have a part number for the 00 Dak 4.7,
so I got them to look up a 99 Grand Cherokee 4.7. My
wife picked it up on the way home...guess what, the
weather connector plug is slightly different. I took
the original out and epoxied it for now. Anyone know
the part number for the oil pressure sending unit in
the 00 4.7 in the dak. I'd rather not have to pay
what the dealer is going to want for it if I can have
Autozone order it for me.

thanks,
Donny M Hayes
