My first 1k miles (impressions & observations)

Hey all,

Well, the "Blue Streak" ('00 QC 360ci 4x4) turned over its first
thousand miles yesterday (the same day I got my plates ;-) ).
Anyway, here's what I think of this fine Dodge product so far...

- The engine is breaking in faster than I thought it would. My city
mileage has bumped up from 10.5 to 12.5 (still bad, but that's
what a 360ci 4x4 truck will do, especially when you're running
3.92 gears - if I was worried about mileage, I'd have bought
  a Geo Metro)

- Still no squeaks or rattles, in spite of my best efforts with
both stereo bass and rough driving. The only thing that makes
noise is the base for the baby seat (don't laugh, that's why
  I bought a QC instead of CC ;-) ).

- The transmission is "soft", and likes to hunt a bit in the
40-55 mph range. I wouldn't mind suggestions on adjusting
this a little more to my liking. I'm thinking a heavy duty
shift kit would fix this (Mopar makes these, right? I'd like
to keep everything under warranty if I can).

- The engine is strong, but obviously doesn't come out of the
factory with the ability to breathe to its fullest. Here is
my "grocery list" for fixing that problem (SUGGESTIONS WELCOME HINT HINT):

  * Headers (which are best with the 360?).
  * New Y-Pipe (may help more than headers - thoughts?).
  * Cat-back system (mandrel bends, single in single out, 3" maybe?).
  * Air Intake (QuickD? AirRaid? K&N?) & Throttle Body upgrade (hints?).
  * Heads ported & polished.
  * NO NITROUS (sorry, I don't need that hassle, I'm not a pro),
but I am open to SC suggestions (perhaps later on).

I want to make sure that my low end doesn't get sacrificed that
much (if at all) if that is possible. Really looking for tips on
making the 360 roar - perhaps the R/T folks have some ideas? Or
the Ram folks who listen in?

Thanks in advance for any and all help...
