Yes. At least on the V6, i've found that the intake tube system (which
doesn't draw hot air like the "Chrome Air Filters") works much better.

Isn't the '88 Carb'd though?

Subject: DML: open air filter question

i recently installed a 10"x3" open air filter on my 88 v6 dak.
i notice i have almost nothing under 2000 rpms now.
after that it pulls better. put the stock intake back on...no
problem then. but i do like the sound and the above 2000 rpm
performance. would i be better with a k&n? ive heard they
straighten out the air flow and i think i am allowing the engine
to gulp too much air in at low rpms. or would the 14" solve this
low rpm problem? i do on occasion some hill climbing and
it bogs way bad unless i use 4lo to keep the engine wrapped up.

thanks
mike
