I didn't notice it until now. I would say that's a Toyota axle. One of the
reasons I've been thinking about a Dana 44 setup is because of the wide
variety of gears, carriers and other stuff you can get for them. I would
think it would be harder to get accessories for a Toyota axle though not
impossible. At least it's better than a 7 1/4" Chrysler diff. I'm in the
process of installing the 4" Trailmaster kit on my premag 4x4. I decided to
change to lower gears to compensate for larger tires and the lowest gear I
could find for the front is a 3.90. And that was at the dealer. I couldn't
find anyone else who made a ring and pinion set for the front.
