The 4.7L is not a HEMI, in the true sense of the word.
Hemispherical means -- "half a Sphere(ball) bounded by a great circle"
The 4.7L heads are neither of these. Its not half a sphere(ball), and it's
not bounded by a circle. The original Hemi engines were in fact half a
sphere and bounded by a circle. I have pictures of both cylinder heads if
you guys are still in disbelief.
The only reason the name "hemi" has started for the 4.7L is because this is
the closest thing DC has produced to a true Hemi in 30 years.

I want it to be a Hemi too, but is not!!

<Magnum is simply a marketing term adopted when they shifted over to MPI on
the
<engines and picked up some horsepower. Why would calling the 4.7 a Hemi be
'<inaccurate'???!!?! They called the 4.7 a 'PowerTech' for a short time in
<relation to the Jeep Grand Cherokee. But Ma Mopar uses the 'Magnum' term
for
<it's entire line of truck engines, even the 4 cylinder. So how can you say
the
<4.7 isn't a 'Magnum' either? It's simply a marketing term. Hemi however is
a
<descriptive term of the top of the combustion chamber formed by the
cylinder
<head mating to the top of the block. Kinda difficult to dispute that. Call
it
<what you want, if it forms a hemisphere it forms a hemisphere.....

Speaking of which, why is it that the 2000s have the same ol' "V8
Magnum" badge as the older trucks? A cost cutting measure? Is there a
large surplus of badges? I thought the new V8 was supposed to be branded a
Powertech. Whatever it is, its not a Magnum, and its just as inaccurate to
call it a HEMI.
