this is the order in which an order goes from paper to delivery......
after you decide which one you want and the dealer gets your order,He
then goes on the computer and is in contact with chrysler and places the
order....then once chrysler conforms the order they assign it an order
number(VON) then they assign it to the appropriate assembly plant. after
that they schedule it for assembly they issue it a vehicle Id
number(VIN) from there it could be built any time after that depending
on how many are a head of yours.(demand)...after it is built it my sit
in the assembly plant yard for up to a week before it is shipped to your
destination,depending on how many they can fit on the train or truck
going your way. once it arrives in your depot ,it may sit a couple more
days until they have enough vehicles going in the same direction as your
dealer then finally the day you have been waiting for...to pickup your
new truck....
now if there is any damage to the vehicles in transit it is sent to the
nearest Chrysler approved body shop to be repaired if it is minor...if
it is too bad they will total it ad either build you a new one or find
you one to replace it.now if it is damaged during assembly it will be
either fixed or scraped.......hope this helps....
