The figure may be reasonable for a Street Hemi in pure street trim, but the
Race Hemi's definitely were capable of more. And of course it took very
little to bring a Street Hemi up to a Race Hemi spec. That was a terrific
number out of an engine that was so detuned and so easily modified. Those
heads could take all the camshaft, induction, and RPM's you could through
at them. Other engines of its era couldn't match the potential of a Hemi.

So with a 426 Hemi you could do nothing a start at a solid 425. Everything
you did would quickly bring returns. The same couldn't be said in the
bowtie and Blue Oval stables!
