The PCM via the ABS only gets an axle speed ... There is no way for it to
"measure" the circumference of a tire .. That is why you have to enter the
rev's per mile data via the scan tool ... the ABS integrates the revs per
mile number and the axle rate to feed speed data to the PCM ... The PCM
drives all the instruments via a data bus.
