I've put synthetics into the engine, diff's and the tranny (T-Case is next) and
my mpg has not changed a bit. I just got back from a trip out to NY state and
my best all highway was 16.4 mpg doing between 70-75 mph. When I glanced back
in my records I had hit that exact same mpg before I went synth. so it's not
doing anything for me in the mpg wars. I switched to it for added protection
and really only time will tell with that. My tranny has never given me any
trouble and I didn't really notice any change in how it operated after going
with Redline. One thing to note if you do this yourself though, is to pay
careful attention to the fill procedure. I was a little short on the fluid when
I did mine and it really banged through the shifts until I got it up to the
proper level.
Oh yeah, I think AMSOIL came out with a type 7176 +3 or 4 ATF so you do have a
bit of choice these days.
Good luck.

Tom,
Thanks I'll keep that in mind when I do the trany. Dose the Redline C+ help
with mileage or how the trany handles? That's what I'm looking for.
Thanks,

Don,
Last time I checked (about a year ago) Mobil didn't make an ATF that meets
D/C's
specs... Moreover, I think Mobil even puts a disclaimer saying their ATF is
not
for use in Mopar auto-tranny's that use type 7176 fluid. I ended up going
with
Redline C+ fluid in my '98.
