There's a short article in Aug. issue of Hot Rod.

D-C has applied for a patent for a new 6-spd auto. tranny
which uses the basic architecture of a manual gearbox so as
to eliminate the parasitic losses associated with the torque
converter that conventional automatics use. It has a
dual-clutch/dual-input shaft layout, which is like having
2 trannies in 1 housing. Each tranny can be shifted
and clutched independently and yields increases in fuel
economy and performance, while improving shift quality.
There is also an integral hill-holder, called an
'engageable overrunning one-way roller clutch' described
in the patent. This clutch is engaged in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd
to prevent rollback when the vehicle is stopped. Because
no engine torque is required, efficiency is improved here
as well.

In addition to being available in the 2002 model year Ram,
they could make their way into the RWD Intrepid/300N/Charger
family for 2003-4. No word on whether this tranny will fit
on the Magnum engine series or other production Mopar blocks,
but they should be able to accommodate the Jeep OHC 4.7L.

Says this information is on www.car-truck.com
