There is a secondary purpose to investing in the FSM aside from the obvious
which is not to be underestimated:
I leave it on the passenger seat when I take my '00 4.7 cc in to the dealer for
service on the theory that when the service mgr and mechanic see it they will be
much less likely to try to bs me. I always put bookmarks hanging out from the
sections dealing with what they will be working on as a reminder that I've done
my homework. There was a huge difference between how I was treated before and
after I started doing this. Now they actually take the time to _fully_ answer
my questions before and after work is completed. I wrote my name on the edges
of the pages (book closed) so it won't get mixed up with their manuals by
mistake.
