255 = Section width (how wide the tire is (NOT TREAD WIDTH) at widest spot
when mounted on recomended wheel width.
65 = Aspect ratio of tire, IE each sidewall it %65 of 255MM
R15 = 15 Inch Rim...
To make more sense of this...
divided 255 by 25.4 (number of MM in a inch) this will convert the section
width into INCHES!
Then multi by .65 (%65 of the section width)
Then multi by 2 (two sidewalls)
Add Rim size...
Then you got tires overall size...
I can tell you that tire is damned near the factory 205/75R15, slightly
bigger ( a 255/60R15 is the same height as 205/75R15)
