Nate (and other DML users)! I noticed some discussion on the list as to the
difference between a couple of filters being used for the poorboy intake
system. Well I ordered my filter tonight from Summit and found out the
difference between the RE0920 filter that your site listed and the RE0810
that was being discussed on the list. I had to call their tech dept and the
guy said it was a pain in the ass to look up the specs but he did it so
thanks goes to him. These two filters are exactly the same except for one
aspect...The inside diameter of the flange end. The filter listed on your
site (RE0920) has a 3.5 inch inside diameter which is perfect if you are
using a 3" PVC pipe for the poorboy since the outer diameter of the 3" PVC
is 3.5". The flexible tubing off the air hat actually has a 3" inside
diameter, but it does stretch over the PVC fitting. The only mistake that I
found on your site was that it listed the diameter of the flange end as
being 3" when it should be 3.5". I'm not sure how flexible these filter
flanges are so I don't know if the RE0810 would stretch out over the 3.5"
pipe. What would be ideal is to use that filter and use a pipe that had an
outer diameter of 3". I don't think I have ever seen PVC offered in 1/2"
sizes such as a 2.5" ID which would give you a 3" OD. Hope this helps
anyone out there still confused and if I have just said something that
someone else had found out and already posted I guess it won't hurt to say
it again! If anyone has found out anything different then we need to call
Summit tech and give them some shit!
