Definitely get rid of them. They collect dirt, rocks, and other crud that
will fall into the plug hole when you remove the plugs. Take some pliers
and just grab and turn them off.

Hey! Has anyone removed their metal sleeves from around the plugs? How
do they come off? Seems like the plugs would come out easier if I could
see `em! The LA engines did just fine before the advent of these
sleeves,so I wanna take `em off!! Plus,they are hurting my ETs at the
