V6 intake comparisons (sort of long)

Saludos DMLer's,

This is sort of long so my feeling won't be hurt if you don't want to read anymore :)

I may not have the money to fix up my truck as it should be, but I can think about it. I wanted to run this idea buy the DML to get a few different perspectives.

I have a 93 V6 5 speed CC that I am going to keep even though it has 187,000 miles on it. I don't want to swap in a V8, so I am going to fix up the V6 in it. Probably the first thing I will do is to upgrade the intake somehow. I've looked thought the archives and tried to figure out my options-

1. Modified V6 TB - I guess this would be smoothing, maybe boring out the existing TB. I'm not sure if I would get the significant power gains I am looking for...

2. V8 TB and modified intake - This looks promising and a number of people have done it. Some people complain that the larger TB, though gaining in HP, has actually hurt the torque or low end figures. I don't want to lose any torque I already have since this is what gets most of the work done.

3. My own crazy idea I thought up today- a four-barrel V8 throttle body and same modified intake as #2 - I've seen the four barrel TB's advertised for the Magnum V8's. I'm thinking that since the four barrel would be running on two barrels most of the time, I would keep more of the wonderful gas mileage and low end torque, but still benefit from four barrels when I need to most (passing, accelerating). I've only met a couple people who have used these on their V8's, but they can't say enough good things about them.

I realize I left out Supercharging and Nitrous, but I can't afford the one, and nitrous isn't practible enough for me. It'd be fun 8) but not practical.

Am I crazy here? I leaning towards #3 but I haven't heard of anyone doing this yet. Any thougts on this. It's be great to hear some feedback on this one...

Thanks for reading the whole thing :)
