In NY, you don't even have to show up to court to plead. I signed the
"not guilty" side of my ticket (you aren't required to sign anything
when the ticket is handed to you) as was advised by my lawyer, mailed it
in, and now I'm playing the waiting game. It'll take at least another
month (6 weeks already since the ticket) before I hear anything at all
if my brother's ticket is any indication.
