RE: Speaking of pinging WAS: 3923 vs. 3924

I had that problem with my Dak starting about a month ago. I getting ready
to change to 3923's but at the same time I was considering purchasing an MSD
ignition and a Mopar HP PCM. So rather than having to pull plugs twice, I
decided a short term remedy would be to use 89 octane fuel. That solved my
problem. Now the MSD is on its way, the HP PCM is installed and I have to
use 92+ octane anyway. The 3923's will go in at the same time the MSD is
installed. I have heard about a lot of Daks having this problem. If you
take it to the dealer and complain they'll flash your PCM and retard the
timing. That'll get rid of your pinging but you will give up some
performance for it.
