Hey Kevin, did you say that your truck idles O.K. but misses under load?
It seems to me that a clogged converter could cause that, especially if
it never goes away.If it`s intermittent, maybe you need to look where I
need to look.I`m down to plug wires or a bad connection on my
truck.Seems to be vibration-sensitive.If you have a 318,then I can tell
you from my own experience that it can still idle well even if one
cylinder is near dead.I had a 74 Duster with a 318 that had one cylinder
with 10 psi compression, and I thought it ran great.A bad plug/wire on my
truck (V6) would be a lot more noticeable than on a V8.Does your
converter smell bad? I haven`t noticed a bad smell from my truck since
they replaced the TPS,but I figure the damage has already been done.Let
us know what you find out. Steve P.
