The first part of this post is a reply from DC. Perfect form letter.
SHEESH! They didn't answer a single question. The second part of this post
is my original inquiry to DC.

I guess I'm having a problem dealing with these comments from various Dodge
truck owners after spending $26,000 on a new vehicle. Why would DC risk
"cheap parts" on a mechanism that is critical to stopping a vehicle? It
isn't like the problem just cropped up. I've seen complaints from owners
since 1990. The following excerpt is from a three-time Dakota owner. He
loves your truck but hates your brakes. I think I would like to hear DC's
side of the story. Didn't Chrysler almost go under because of shoddy
workmanship? Could DC be the next Firestone? I've heard of some serious
problems regarding defective brakes. I will be keeping an eye on mine but
I would like some answers in the meantime. Ron EXCERPT: Most of the
brake components(pads, rotors, calipers, drums, etc..)are "cheap material"
You shouldn't need to worry about the rear brakes too much though, since
the front brakes do 70-80% of the braking. As for the front brakes, I'd
almost be willing to bet!
the house on it that you will have premature problems :( I am
currently driving the third dakota that I have owned, and I had problems
with all of them....97 Dak CC--Right front caliper sticking causing pad to
wear. Replace both calipers(25k miles) 98 Dak RC--inner front brake pad
worn to metal causing rotor to get bad grooves.Replace pads and one
rotor.(17k miles) 00 Dak CC Warped rotors(15k miles), want to replace with
high performance ones. Most of the time I don't drive my truck very hard
either.....The brakes just suck!
