RE: Intense Performace Cone Filters

As a direct quote from K&N: "We build the open end conical filters for
several different manufacturers, but they don't flow as well as the standard
cones."

They're right too...I did a home "Smoke Test" and found that it doesn't pull
air from the cone, but rather from the outer sides near the opening to the
intake tube.

Subject: DML: Intense Performace Cone Filters

Has anyone bought and used any of their products? From what they have in
their tech section and in their little ads, they appear to have some pretty
darn good flowing cone filters.

Since I will be trying to fab up a homebrew cold air intake kit using a
GenIII air hat and a cone style air filter, I of course will be needing a
cone air filter. Seems like everyone uses K&Ns cone style filters, but I
really like these made by Intense Performance and just curious if they are
worth the money. The 6"x9" K&N goes for around $50. The Intense Performance
cone filters, especially the 'Big Mouth' just seem to have better flowing
capabilities/ratings. Anyone?????????????
