If you want, you can run 2" pipe to a 2.5" opening on the muffler and out
from the dual 2.5" holes back into 2" pipe. That will keep your bottom end
as well. (Plus, expanding the sound waves from 2" to 2.5" and then back
down to 2" will mellow it out a bit.)

Yeah, that's exactly why I was asking around whether the 2.5" dual catbacks
are too open for the 3.9L. I'm happy to buy it off the shelf if it works,
but if I should go a little smaller I'm perfectly willing to have a custom
one fabbed up. (Flowmaster offers a 2.5" In / 1.75" Dual Out muffler as well
that could be a good option).

There are plenty of choices, I just want to make sure I get the best setup
for my truck. I don't know how to answer to the question myself, which is
why I've been asking around the DML.

If Bernd figures the dual 2.5" is OK, that's pretty good reassurance. I get
the feeling he's kind of sensitive to his truck's performance. ;-)

Thanks, Tim...
