RE Extended Warranty

I would like to add one thing to what Alex said about www.warrantydirect.com
which I belive may be important to many people because I know it is to me.
Almost all the extended warranties, to include Ma Mopar, start from the day
the vehicle is put in service, what this means is that if you get a 5 year
warranty what you are effectively paying for is the addition of 2 years to
your 3 year factory warranty in the case of a 7 year warranty you are paying
for 4 additional years. With Warranty Direct the 5 or 7 year warranty
begins when you take out the contract not the in service date for your
vehicle. This means that next year when my Dak is 18 months old and I take
out a 7 year warranty from warranty direct I will be covered until the
vehicle is 8 1/2 years old (assuming I don't exceed the mileage limits). I
maintain that the additional 18 month time period is probably the most
likely time that warranty work may be needed.
