Today I orded two items through Summit:
1. K&N Cone Filter; PN#RE-0920: $36.95
2. K&N Breather; 62-1520; $21.39
Both were in stock(for a change) and are coming out of Ohio. Since I live in
Indiana, I am hopin they will get here fast(er).
Thanks to Phil, I received a GenIII air hat in the mail yesterday and began
getting various parts here and there. It does fit expceptionally well on my
QuickD TB; more secure and flush on the TB compared to my stock round metal
air filter housing. Since I will we using K&N's valve cover vent/breather, I
wont need to use the 'air hose fitting' on the GenIII air hat. I went to my
local hardware store and bought a ncie and snug black rubber cap for $.75
and put some black RTV on the fitting, so it would be air tight and not
leak. I also found out the my current air hat 'wing nut' wont work as good
on the GenIII air hat. So I found a nice 3 pointed plastic star knob($1.25)
with a threaded metal section meant for a 1/4-20 rod. I picked up a grommet
for the hole on the GenIII air hat for another $.55, so the air hat will
have little leaks, plus it will help cushion the plastic knob when it is
tightened down. lI put the GenIII air hat on along with this 3 pointed knob
and the grommet, and it fits so great!
I am having a hard time finding 3" black ABS pipe and angled brackets, but
will call some smaller plumbing supply shops tomorrow. My local Home Depot,
Menards, and Lowes do not carry this pipe, only the white PVC pipe. Hope
fully I will be able to do this project early next week, just waiting for
the K&N filters to arrive. Thanks again Phil!
