So did you get a Patriot Blue one? I have one, it's a QC though. There is
another PB QC running around here also.

Subject: DML: New owner, seeking advice

Hello DMLers

As of Monday night I am the proud new owner of a 4.7L 2000 2wd
Dakota clubcab sport plus auto trans. So far I love it. The V-8 is a far
cry from my old '91 Nissan w/ 2.4L auto engine. I plan on turning this
thing into a street racer. Stiffer suspension, bigger wheels, etc. I have
a few questions that I could use some replies on.

1.) What is the difference (pro's and con's) of fiberglass vs. steel roll
pans

2.) Ditto on Hoods (Steel vs. fiberglass)

3.) Where is there a place you a test out your Dakota in southern California
(I'm in Orange County). As I make changes I want to see some physical
numbers change, like 0-60, 1/4 mi, Slalom times. Are there events of these
sort.

Any comments on improving my ride are welcome.

I will be expanding on my Dakota page as things progress, check it out at

Happy trails,
