Jamy:

Here's the original post I sent in lat eapril regarding fabbing up the
X-Brace for Gen I & IIs at Kenny Brown and their response:

Good news for everyone out there with a first or second generation
Dakota. You may recall the message from Dennis Crawley in El Paso about
the X-Brace and how it enabled his Dakota R/T to maneuver better than his
old korvette or perhaps you read the article about it in Mopar Muscle's
Trucks section a few months ago.

I e-mailed the website expressing my displeasure over the fact that this
brace was not available to those of us with Classic Dakotas, the fact
that we had a group of over 800 Dakota owners across the US and Canada
and that we all love our trucks and some of us even still drive the
original models. Anyhow, here's their response:

We would be intersted in developing an X-brace for the early model
Dakotas. What we would need is a Dakota to develop the brace on. Do you
have any members in the indianapolis area that would loan us their dakota
for a few weeks for fittment? They would receive a free brace out of the
deal.

I don't recall off-hand who in this area has a classic Dakota. If I lived
near there, I'd already be at the teir shop. Someone with a Gen I or II
Dakota please call Andrew and get yourself a free X-Brace. You'll be
helping yourself and all of us with the antique Dakotas. Whoever contacts
Andrew and gets the brace, please let me know so that once they get the
dimensions down, I can order one of these. Hotchkis isn't going to make
anything to help us, but these guys are willing. We just need someone to
have them adapt it to.

Thanks!!!
