Cat replaced, spark knock turns out to be tie rods?

Well, after waiting since June 29, I finally got my new cat installed last
week. It didn't fix my spark knock, so I took it back in yesterday, for
another go. After they checked my intake manifold again, (been fixed once),
they called DC for ideas. They kept my truck overnight, and this morning DC
said it was within specs. Yeah, right. I pretty much gave up, and said
fine, I'll try higher octane gas, plugs, and thermostat. I asked them to
check my aligment and ball joints just in case. Guess what...Tie rods about
go, ball joints gone. Although, I don't think that the noise I've been
hearing was ball joints and tie rods, but I am happy that they are fixing
those with out any hassle about my body lift, and I am getting a rental
until it's fixed. Roxanne, my very friendly and mildly cute service writer,
said my truck was unsafe to drive. Hehe, 29.5k on the odemeter, I've got to
get this stuff fixed before I start paying for it all!
