I'm taking my Dakota to the strip this Saturday, they are having a "test and
tune day".
Can anyone that has run their 5 speed Dakota's at the dragstrip give me some
pointers?
I'm used to having traction and launching at 3000-3500 rpm, and I know that
won't work with no weight on the rear, and street tires.
I tried a couple of times at our local street race area.
Held rpm at 1250-1300, let out clutch a little quicker than normal, then
nailed it...
spun thru first, second, and a second or so into third gear. Then I tried
everything the same, but started in second gear...same results.
Am I destined to spend money on slicks, or DOT race tires?
Thanks in advance,
Jeff C.
