Electric fan is in!

I finally got to install the Black Magic I got from Kevin
(Quicktruk99). Made 2 trips to Sears to get a wrench, ended up with a
15" cresent wrench (dropped $37 on it, and nearly dropped it on my
foot! 3 freakin pounds!).

I haven't driven it enough to say how much difference it makes, but I
will soon enough. I do have questions though.

The knob on the top of the control unit lets you set how hot things get
before it turns on. But when you turn all the way CCW, there's some
heavy resistance, then it kicks over, almost like a switch, and the fan
turns on, even if the key is off. Is that what this is? A "full-time"
switch? Also, after coming back with the pizza (had to repay my friend
somehow), I noticed that the fan was on after I turned off the truck.
This I did not expect. However, about 45 minutes later, we went out and
it was off. Normal? I assume it is, just want to make sure.

I'll spare all the gory install details, but we started about 4:30 PM
and finished everything up in the dark (a trip to Sears, about 30-45
minutes included in that). Had some trouble with a few of the
connections, but eventually got it with the exception of one. We
snipped the A/C clutch "hot" wire to splice in the green wire from the
fan, and ruined the crimp connector in the process. So now I'm without
A/C until I can fix all that up.
