In the case of 98s and up, the your computer calculates speed &
distance from a sensor on the rear axle. Part of this calculation is
the the diameter of the tire - every time the axle turns once, the wheel
turns once. If you go to a larger tire, you're actually traveling
farther than the computer thinks you are. This will make your
spedometer and odometer wrong.
