Re: Re: Re: DML:Twin Supercharger...now pulleys

I don't think I was looking in the wrong place...I know where the crank pulley is and I could easy see around it, because I took the upper fan shroud off to look at it. Also, a Dodge tech told me that it is a different setup according to his manual. He said that the pulley was part of the crank pulley/dampener assembly. That there was a special tool to remove the assembly from the engine, a second tool to remove the pulley from the assembly, and a third tool to put a new pulley on. I've seen a similar setup on the Ferd Lightning's.

Unless the 5.9L in my Durango is different than that in the Daks...but I'm pretty sure it is the same.

you must've been looking at the wrong place... the crank pulley is held on
by 6 1/2"(???) bolts. that is the same for 3.9s, 5.2s, 5.9s there IS a
large nut in the center, but the pulley installs around it

> No they don't, well at least not the crank pulley. I ordered one for my
Durango and it was a completely different setup. I ordered them from
truckperformance.com and the guy told me I had the right parts according to
his catalog, but there was no way in hell the pulley he sent me would go on
my D. My D has 1 bolt that mounts to the crank and it a crank/dampener
assembly. I believe the pulley he sent me had about 5 or 6 bolts holes on
it, but none in the middle. I spoke with a service tech and he said that I
would need about 3 specialty tools to remove the crank/dampener assembly and
change the pulley. Too much work and cost involved for the few extra horses
it adds...IMO.
