I have a question regarding battery cables. For the last 2 years or so I
have had a Mopar battery on my truck. Eventually the posts got so corroded
that even with thorough cleaning it would return after a few days. I ended
up buying a new battery but it turns out that the corrosion has eaten too
much of the negative cable away where it contacts the post. So now every
now and then when I go out to my truck it won't start unless i find the
"sweet" spot on the negative post. I have asked around at all the parts
stores and no one carries a set of aftermarket battery cables. Is there
something I can add to the wires to "jury-rig" it where it contacts the post
or should I just spring for some new cables from Mopar? I would assume they
will be expensive because they are OEM. Any thoughts?
