Baseline dyno run on my 99 R/T

Well, I had to work at the NOPI Nationals today, so I took advantage of the
Dyno they had set up to get a baseline of what the 99 SY RC R/T would be
starting with.

I figured that like most R/Ts I have seen, that it would put down about
180-190HP on the drums.
This was at Atlanta Motor Speedway at 2:18PM. The temp was just right at
about 73 degrees, and the humidity was fairly low. I would say about 69%.
These guys are the same ones that had the dyno set up at the Mopar Nats in
Columbus. Same dyno too.
Only thing I didn't like is taht they didn't put the Dyno make and model
number on the print-out, nor the temp, humidity, etc.

Anyway, I did three pulls. The first was with the truck bone stock. This
truck is a 99RC R/T with 13500 miles on her.
The guy that operated the dyno ran with the Overdrive turned off, and he
would allow the truck to get into 3rd gear before running it from about
2600RPM all the way to my specified 5000RPM.

The first run was a little higher than what I expected, as I pulled a run
of 206.8HP and 250.1ft.-lb. of torque. Peak HP was at 4500RPM, while peak
Torque was at 4150RPM.
For run number two, I removed the air filter and left the air filter
housing open.
The results from this simple step were amazing, at least to me. I gained
exactly 13HP (219.8) and even more fun was I gained 38.3ft-lb of torque!!
(288.4)
Peak HP was at 4350 and peak torque was at 3650.
Run number three was nearly identical as I changed nothing. I presume the
truck was getting hot as I pulled a 218.5HP at 4150 and 283.4ft.-lb. of
torque at 3300.

I am glad I did it, most importantly to gain a baseline for my truck. To
see it perform better than I expected, I was very very pleased.

BTW - Most of the vehicles wee rice burners that were scraping the bottom
of the barrel to get a 150HP rating! There was a 97 Viper GTS in line
behind me, but I didn't get to see him run. I did get to see a late-model
RX-7 blow an engine on the dyno though, LOL!

Tell me what you guys think.
