The only question I have is this:

The Powerband drops quickly after 5000rpm. Why take it to 6000?!?

Where did this lifter problem story come from ? Has anyone had a engine
problem related to them ? I have not heard of any and don't think that there
are any atleast in drag racing applications, maybe in circle track or
something where it would be wound 6000 or better for a extended time ? I
wind
mine to 6000 every night of drag racing since installing the comp cam and
the
MPI the power seems to be best over 5500 so I shift at 6000 both on the
motor
and on the juice and so far have not had a problem. I am using stock
lifters,
rockers and pushrods but do have the MP springs and retainers. I did some
research before tinkering and found that the 380 HP crate engine has the
same
lifters, pushrods, rockers & ect as the stock Magnums do but do have beefier
springs . So my theory is that Mopar wouldn't put this stuff in them engines
if they were going to give problems. The 380 is rated at 5300 but the
indicate in the Magnum Engines book that the torque remiains over 350 from
2000 to 5700. And the MP computers at least in 93 were rev limited at 6500,
why would Mopar set it that high if the engines would not take it ? I would
really be interested in knowing of any failures of these lifters or lifter
related engine failures on any engines used for drag racing or any other
purpose for that matter but I have heard of None. I know jon even tried to
kill his engine with a over rev situation :-) but just bent a few valves and
push rods ????
