Hi all,
I don't remember exactly what I paid for Norton System Doctor ($50??) which
includes the Anti-Virus product. I do remember a $20 rebate which I've
already received. I also know this is the second year because I've just
renewed my subscription to Live Update for $3.95/yr. Is it worth it? Look
what just happened today! You bet it's worth every little penny you pay and
then some. All I know is Norton notifies me as soon as I power up my PC if
it has virus antidotes that I should download into my system. When I
received that e-mail from Neil today (I know it wasn't your fault, Neil)
Norton intercepted it because there was an attachment and stopped everything
in the system from running until it fixed the file. When I consider the
amount of mail I receive, mostly because of the DML, I wouldn't be caught
dead without it. The great thing about Norton is it just sits there and
runs. You don't even know it until something goes wrong. Then you're
thankful Norton caught it and recorded it so you can fix it. If everyone
had this on their system we wouldn't have to worry about these viruses.
McAfee is another anti-virus program that I've heard is pretty good also.
You can't get a mod for your Dak this cheap!
My $.02,
Ron
