Replaced Power Steering Fluid Today

I looked a my maintenance sheets last night, and noticed I haven't drained
and refilled the power steering fluid in a while. I typically do it every 2
years and usually just use normal old power steering fluid. I went out and
bought a quart of Valvoline SynPower Synthetic Blend Power Steering Fluid.
It says on the container, "Guaranteed to: Not Clog or Foam, Stop Squeals &
Leaks, and Protect Against Corrosion & Wear." Well I figured the current
power steering pump does squeals or leak, but it appeared to be some good
stuff, so I paid $3.50 and bought a quart. I went home, and pumped out the
large majority of the fluid in the ps reservoir. It was pretty darn
black/brown. I opened up the Valvoline SynPower power steering fluid and
noticed how clear it was. I mean this stuff looked like an oily water, it
was that clear. So I poured in about 25 ounces and turned the wheel back and
forth, attempting to bleed out any air pockets. I will recheck the color of
the fluid in a few months. I also typically drain and refill the brake fluid
in my master cylinder once a year, so I am going to pick up some Valvoline
SynPower Brake Fluid this week, and see how that does.
