I don't know about that. most chain equipped motors its so invasive to change the chain
its costs a small fortune. what usually wears are the guides and not the chain itself.
but from what you wrote it looks like you ,meant belt not chain

Depends, if it's making noise...immediately. Normally, 70-80K miles with
normal driving. I've seen chains go as long as 140K miles...but that just
scares me.
