   According to the 2000 FSM (section 7; page 33; fig. 38; "Water pump
typical") there appears to be an
"upper vent hole" & a "lower vent hole" in the water pump. Can't tell from
you pic if that's what ya got & not sure what year DAK ya got, but maybe
this'll help...
