Subject: DML: Lunchtime "Run" and Limitations

Well, had a good run with some little Honda Rice-Dude along the highway.
I'm
doing 70mph and this little buzz-bomb comes right up my a$$. So..there's no

one in front of me, no one next to me...what the heck...Downshift and STOMP
ON
IT!

That poor little Honda didn't know what hit him...hehehe...all the way up to

110mph. (No speed limitation...just tire limitation.)

Unfortunately, I found the limitation on boost with the stock intake...The
Boost gauge showed almost 7psi at 4900rpm and all of a sudden "Ping Ping
Ping
Ping"...what the hell...this hasn't happened in the past (let alone at
Houston
two weekends ago). I get back to work, pull off the airhat and check down
the
manifold...UhOh...time for a new belly pan gasket. (Truck will be down for
a
few days...good thing I have old reliable - Javelin.)

Sooo....time to order some gaskets again. The timing gear will be removed
and
a chain will be put back in for now...it's starting to get a little bit
annoying for my taste since I can't hear any light pinging anymore. No
complaints on performance from the Gear Drive...just noisy.
