After some thought I remembered that with MPI (mulit-point injection) the TB
and upper intake runners never see the gas/air mix which normally keeps it
clean. Any injector cleaner added to the fuel never reaches this area
either. So what you are seeing is PVC vapor build-up with micro dust
particles and the only way to remove it is to clean it out by hand with carb
cleaner. I think its ok to spray carb cleaner in directly while engine is
running with outer intake removed, but CHECK ON THIS, as I'm not sure the
effect carb cleaner has on the O2 sensors.
