Similar type experience with me.
At the tail end of last season's track season, I experienced oil loss
but could not tell where. I did the intake gasket and pcv tests. I
took compression readings. All test results showed that nothing was
wrong. A couple of weeks later, no more oil loss. In April of this
year, I put in the MPI and noticed that the gasket was 'wavy' (in and out)
in a couple of areas. The gasket must have leaked a bit and temporarily,
and then resealed.
