Herculiner review

As some may recall, I was looking at the different options to replace my
rattling York Lock-something-or-other plastic bedliner. I wanted to get rid of
the rattling and chafing and my new toolbox called a Truck Trunk from Creative
Industries is not designed for use with a bedliner. My truck bed use is very
light, I occasionally carry motorcycles, sometimes building materials but never
stone or anything like that. If my use were heavier I believe I'd opt for
something heavier than Herc and maybe heavier then the francise guys. Even
though Herc and the franchises will protect against all rust and some bumps and
belts, I think the stiffness of a plastic bedliner, maybe combined with Herc
underneath would be able to handle gravel being dropped into the bed much better
without damage. In my case this type of task is relegated to a trailer.

After looking at the spray-in franchises at about $400.00 for black and more for
colors, I opted for a Herculiner D-I-Y at about $100.00. In short, I must say,
it's a great product. The stuff was easy to work with and the results are
awesome. A little careful prep work and some very cautious taping really
produced very nice results.

On the down side.... Even after two coats, I'd still missed a few spots, which
was not a big deal cuz I had Herculiner left over and a quick touch up fixed any
of these. However, if I were to do it again, this could easily be solved by: 1)
Do the job *outside* with lots of natural light. (I was in the garage with all
the doors open) 2) Roll on a *third* coat, in my case there was plenty left to
do this.

We'll see how it holds up over time. Is it possible to get pics posted to the
DML web page?
